Our Story
Empowering Haitian Communities Through Collective Action
In 2014, sisters Sophonie and Marie founded HASCE with a vision to transform lives and communities. Born in Haiti and having migrated to the United States as teenagers, Sophonie and Marie have always remained deeply connected to their roots. Their journey of community involvement began in their new home, where they actively participated in church activities and various mission trips.
A Lifelong Commitment to Service
Sophonie and Marie developed a profound understanding of the world and a strong desire to make a difference through their involvement in numerous volunteering opportunities. These experiences shaped their perspective and reinforced the importance of community over individualism.
Creating a Platform for Change
Determined to create a lasting impact, the sisters established HASCE as a platform to help Haitian students engage with their communities. They aimed to shift the mindset from an individualized view to one focused on collective action and community building.

At HASCE, we believe in the power of collective action and community leadership. By amplifying the voices and efforts of Haitian youth and community-based organizations, we provide the funding, tools, and resources necessary for them to take a leading role in rebuilding their communities.
